The project, part of a larger intervention, involves the expansion of the Italchimica Srl headquarters, located in the industrial area of Padua. The new 500 sqm volume is elevated above the existing building with a dry steel structure, featuring a flat roof that integrates with the surrounding buildings. A large window hosts the entrance foyer and a cafeteria with a capacity of up to 90 seats, while at the rear there is a service block with a closed kitchen.
A spacious open terrace is designed flexibly to allow for multifunctional use. The perimeter of this space is enhanced with planters containing climbing plants, which connect to the roof through tie rods, acting as a visual filter with the surrounding environment. A stairwell, separate from the main building, connects the emergency exits and houses the systems.
For the interiors, large windows were chosen to encourage natural light and provide direct access to the outdoor area. The service block features an opening for food service and is completely covered with dark wood paneling. The dark gridded ceilings contrast with the brightness of the terrazzo floors, maintaining consistency with the typical colors of industrial environments.
