The 11-story, 225,000 square foot, 29 Jay Street development is first new ground up commercial building for over 100 years in the iconic and landmarked Dumbo Brooklyn neighborhood of NYC. Inspired by the innovative cast in place concrete technology of the adjacent historic Gair Buildings, and Manhattan Bridge's cross bracing, the distinctive faceted glass fiber-reinforced concrete ("GFRC") facade is sculpturally contextual. The project achieved unanimous approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission with commissioners saying: “Astounding! It stands out as it fits in, which is exactly what new buildings in historic districts should do. It’s very much a Dumbo building.”
The building was conceived to be Dumbo's first Class A Office space "where the future works". With extra-large operable windows, state-of-the-art building systems, best-in-class amenities, and efficient floor plates to maximize the natural light and mesmerizing water and skyline views. Holistically sustainable, achieving both Well v2 and LEED Gold certifications, a biophilic and healthy environment for all employees.
