To add to the rapid development of Mount Prospect’s downtown, Harlem Irving Companies and First Equity teamed up with OKW Architects to create a transitional residential development. The concept aimed to bridge the gap between contemporary urban living with the more traditional single-family homes north of the city center.
Inspired by the rhythm and design language of Mount Prospect’s public library, the resulting 97-unit building is clad in warm materials with contemporary detailing. The development was designed with varying materials and parapet heights to break up the massing and give the structure a more residential feel and scale.
The amenity floor and roofdeck are perched atop the building, giving the building life on Main Street, and activating the pedestrian experience for people walking by.
