Photography, which becomes an art form with the expression of a theme, could find no other place to present itself to the public than this. The old jails now transformed into the Civic Archaeological Museum of Codroipo, represents, in fact, not only a monument to a harsh past, but contains within itself many outstanding features. From fine nineteenth-century architecture, to a home of archaeological finds that narrate what the Codroipo territory has experienced; but, it is also the symbol of an artist presenting his work, arguably one of his most important, to the city and to the people among whom he grew up and was shaped.
Among the twisted spaces and corrugated corners of a difficult but uniformly container, the artist’s expression depicts that which does not exist, in two-dimensional matter; combined with a three-dimensional perceptual system that envelops and guides those who are trapped in it. The works presented, interface with the history of the building and that of the territory, and also tell the story of Dalla Costa’s journey through different techniques as well.
