The firm of Todd Rader + Amy Crews, formed in 2000, is dedicated to creating designs that marry architecture and landscape. Our projects reflect the multidisciplinary nature of our training blending the disciplines to produce designs that span from the building interior to the landscape beyond. We are a responsive and flexible firm that approaches each new project with a fresh outlook. Our expertise is founded on wide experience gained through our own projects and as project landscape architects and partners in a variety of firms over the last twenty years. We are a design-oriented firm that strives to create functional landscapes of strong character with an economy of gesture. Our work is wide-ranging and includes master planning for new communities, museums, campuses, and historic sites, landscape design for urban plazas, housing, university buildings, institutional buildings, streetscapes and private residences ranging
from estates to country houses to city gardens and roof terraces. Our site art
installations and drawings have been featured in several exhibitions. Our architectural work includes houses and numerous garden structures associated with our landscapes. Being architects, as well as landscape architects, we are uniquely suited to understand and provide landscapes appropriate to other’s architectural visions. We often work as consultants to architects and many of our projects are on teams that include architects. We have completed projects throughout New England, across the United States, and in Europe. We
have wide experience working in urban environments to achieve rich landscapes that can stand up to public use and serve their purposes well. We are experienced in the design of sustainable landscapes and have worked on many projects that are
LEED-certified. We have designed several green roofs and rain gardens and strive to create efficient landscapes featuring native plants.
