Ted Porter Architecture (TPA) works on a wide range of projects: new construction, renovations, additions to historic structures, and interior design. Seven dedicated firm members work closely together to serve the various requirements of our valued clients. Current and recent projects include the renovation of a 1925 Brooklyn building with 22,000 square feet for the headquarters of a philanthropic foundation; construction of a compound consisting of a sound recording studio, year-round artists’ housing, and seasonal artists’ housing in Vermont; an artist’s facility in Los Angeles consisting of a studio building, a gallery building and courtyard gardens; and numerous homes on Long Island and within New York City. TPA prefers to work on projects beginning with the schematic design, and following through with comprehensive working drawings and specifications, pricing of the work with contractors, navigating the approvals process with local authorities, supervising the construction, and selecting the interior finishes and furnishings. The firm has successfully produced commercial, institutional, and residential projects that have benefited from a close working relationship between Client and Architect.
