Officially known as Tao Lei (Beijing) Architecture Design Co., Ltd., TAOA was established in 2011, originating as a personal architectural studio founded by Tao Lei in 2007. Since establishment, TAOA has gained a wide reputation in the architecture field. The company’s works have been widely recognized and published both domestically and internationally. TAOA has won numerous awards, including the WA Awards for Chinese Architecture (WAACA) 2010, Gold Winner and Excellence accolades of Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards, nomination for the China Architecture Media Awards, shortlisted for UED Museum Design Award and ranked 10th in the China Architecture Ten Years selection. Notably, TAOA won another WA Awards for Chinese Architecture in 2012. Additionally, in the same year, Tao Lei was nominated for Young Architect Award by the China Architecture Media Awards. Under the invitation of Phoenix Publishing & Media Group, TAOA’s first book, “In and Out”, part of Modern Architecture in China 70 Series, was published in 2012.
