Sweet Sparkman stands as a leader in resilient, community-oriented design on the Gulf Coast of Florida - influencing the region's architectural landscape for over two decades. We shape communities and elevate experiences by crafting resilient, context-driven architectural solutions with integrity, curiosity, and purpose.
Founded in 2002, we have grown into a powerhouse of creativity and expertise with 50 full-time professionals led by principals Todd Sweet, Jerry Sparkman, John Bryant, Karl Bernhard, and Shane LaMay. What sets us apart is our impressive range of projects that enrich every facet of community life. From vibrant performing arts venues and public parks that cultivate cultural engagement, to schools, libraries and community centers that foster learning and connection, to critical public safety facilities that protect and serve - our work shapes the daily experiences of residents throughout the region. Our expertise extends to crafting high-end residential homes that set a new standard for resiliency typically only seen in commercial design. Each project reflects our commitment to resilient architecture that both serves and enhances the community's needs while withstanding Florida's climate challenges.
At the heart of our approach is our collaborative spirit and unique blend of global perspective with local commitment. Our diverse team represents over 15 nationalities and 10 languages, bringing a dynamic fusion of cultural insights to our award-winning designs. We view each project as an opportunity to bring together these diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive design process that considers every stakeholder's voice. This approach, coupled with our technical expertise and innovative use of creative tools, allows us to transform complex challenges into distinctive, functional solutions that enhance Sarasota's cultural and architectural heritage. We strive to leave a legacy of places that enhance how future generations live, work, and connect
