supermanoeuvre is an internationally recognized collaborative architecture and design practice which operates out of New York and London.The studio is dedicated to the realization of innovative, inspiring and sustainable projects and to the development of expanded modes of practice, design methodologies and fabrication techniques through experimentation, teaching, and research.With expertise in algorithmic design, complex geometry and computer controlled and robotic fabrication, supermanoeuvre sees computation as a means of opportunistically collaborating with the rich heterogeneity and flux of social, cultural, material and ecological substrates.The practice was co-founded in 2006 by Iain Maxwell and Dave Pigram. Their work has been exhibited in UK, USA, China, France, Portugal, Italy, Colombia and Australia. The directors have lectured on the practices work and research at Columbia University, Princeton University, London’s Royal College of Art and the Architectural Association [AA], The Pratt Institute, The University of Michigan, Aalborg University [Denmark], the University of Technology Sydney [UTS], the University of San Carlos [Philippines] and the University of Canberra.supermanoeuvre represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Architecture Biennale. The studio’s directors are on the advisory panel for the University of Canberra’s Master of Digital Design program and will be the 2010 Master Class instructors at the University of Technology Sydney.
