“Re-inventing Building Type” is what Studiobase Architects pays close attention to at this stage. How to discover the unattended, unexpressed facts concealed within site, program, or construction process and to turn them into the catalysts of creating new building type, is the core of our design strategies.
Studiobase Architects was founded in Taichung city, Taiwan in 2003. It operates in the full width of the architectural and design domain. Works are mostly focused on the development of spatial prototypes that integrate urban context and landscape. This exploration finds its results also in seeking new ways of architectural programming. Principle Ming-Wei Huang (born 1967) graduated from Harvard GSD with M. Arch., and B. Arch from Tunghai University, Taiwan.
