The intent is to create spaces and projects quietly bound to their surroundings rather than shouting their presence. Creating simple design parti’s which respond to the unique qualities of each individual site results in a “quiet”, but powerful architecture that is respectful to the landscape. Juxtapositions of rich, textured surface materials and attention to design details, used minimally and modestly, is a design signature used by Studio B to give a deep meaning and relationship between spaces to each project.
By exploiting variation in the properties of each material to the greatest degree—through the use of pattern, light, repetition, texture and more—beautiful, detailed palettes are expressed and articulated. The seamless integration of sustainable concepts—understanding how place and environment impact each building through light, views, site, orientation and new technologies—completes the singular modern aesthetic.
