Founded in 1990, SPF:architects is a Los Angeles architecture firm specializing in clients and projects that require a high level of design sensitivity, technical expertise, and hands-on principal involvement. The studio, led by Zoltan E. Pali, FAIA, and Judit M. Fekete-Pali, LEED, houses an award-winning design team, and one of the world’s most accomplished technical documentation workshops.
A team currently 20 individuals strong, their capabilities include all phases of project development, from research and conceptual design to schematics, design development, construction documents, bidding, negotiations, and contract administration. The firm’s experience in shepherding large, complex projects gives it the knowledge base and operational systems needed to manage projects that demand leadership that is collaborative in nature.
The firm has been responsible for a number of institutional Los Angeles and has been recognized with over 80 national and regional design awards, including an American Architecture Award in 2014 for the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, a National AIA Honor Award for his iconic design of Somis Hay Barn, completed in 2001 in rural Somis, California, and a AIA|LA Presidential Award for leading the Executive Architecture team on the $300-million renovation and expansion of the Getty Villa Museum.
