SHISUO Design Office was established in 2023, founded by Sanif and Changshan (Chinese National First-Class Architect) . Their practice types are rich and diverse——in the renovation of Somekh Building,they create a clear and identifiable balance between preservation and renewal, repair and deconstruction, memory and the present. By strategy of reconstructing the archaeological stratifications，time fragments are recombined and spatially interpreted to create a new integrity;The Coffee Shed of Luxun Park reflects their contemplation on the dichotomy between artificial and natural—how man-made structures, as buildings, can coexist, symbiotically create with nature; The Breeze Hall is regarded as a sanctuary that carries the collective memory of the city,which has become a generator of public activities, hosting a series of socially impactful cultural events.Through these public events, the Breeze Hall garnered over 30 million views on social media, becoming a new cultural landmark in Shanghai;In product design, their focus is on redesigning everyday items, hoping that people will find comfort, joy, and inspiration. They believe that in any era, authenticity is the cornerstone of resonance. Their design practice focuses on materiality、techtonic、space meaning and Genius Loci.We intentionally aim to break boundaries, no longer limiting ourselves to architecture only, but instead using architecture as a theoretical starting point to explore broader and unfamiliar fields. From city to spoon, we engage in self-inquiry and provide responses at different scales of design.
