SBSA is an architectural firm founded in 2001 by Barbara Sandri and Andrea Smaniotto.
Our approach, in dealing with design, investigates the peculiarities and the challenges inherent in every assignment, regardless of size or budget. Only after a thorough research of the essential and deep characters of a place, do we understand the peculiarity of every single physical reality, in order to develop a concrete project and strategy that can provide accurate and effective answers.
In our opinion buildings should be durable, functional, flexible, energy-efficient and timeless. The development of each project is focused in the idea of creating quality architecture: the basic elements of the discipline, such as structure, light and space are reinterpreted and explored in order to solve problems of practice construction. We consider each project as an opportunity to examine new solutions by comparing a more theoretical and academic attitude to the practical activity. This attitude applies to all types of scale, from the smaller one, such as that of an ephemeral installation to the bigger one, more urban and territorial.
