Who we are? rundzwei believes that contemporary architecture depends on the development of coherent design concepts which work not only on paper, but even more so in reality. Our design concepts are the product of a thought-through research process which integrates space, materials, local history and contexts. While we aim to contextualise architecture we challenge the existing, reinterpret modernity and explore the unexpected. rundzwei filters and focuses the relevant potentials and qualities of each project to create innovative and unconventional solutions in a new contemporary form. This leads to unexpected concepts that often go beyond the scope of the actual brief and positively effect and enhance the final goal of each project and client. We believe that sustainable architecture starts with the concept and should not exclusively rely on costly ex-post technical solutions. Therefore rundzwei integrates architectural solutions to reduce energy consumption and heat gain into the design concept of the build environment before enhancing them through technology. rundzwei is a successful spin-off of we-do architecture established in 2008 by Marc Dufour-Feronce and Andreas Reeg in Berlin, Germany. Before founding rundzwei Marc Dufour-Feronce and Andreas Reeg held key positions working for internationally reknown offices such as Herzog & de Meuron, LAB architecture and ACME in the UK, Switzerland and the UAE. Both partners have been leading projects of all scales ranging from masterplans, housing towers, museums and exhibition spaces, shopping centres to residential units in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, UAE, Syria, South Korea, Spain, Romania and Russia. rundzwei is a young, dynamic and experienced office that has been involved in several national and international competitions such as the NMAAD in Oslo, the Renault Traffic Design award and is currently working on residential and office projects in Germany. What we do? The conceptual design strength of rundzwei is rounded up through an extensive network of partnering offices and consultant firms which enable us to offer the full spectrum of architectural services from feasibility studies, concept design, and energy consultancy through to construction management and documentation. By collaborating with foreign architectural and engineering offices we ensure that the high quality of our concept and design for international projects is realised up to the build project and beyond. This way every client’s individual needs can be satisfied through our trusted network.
