RTA Studio is an innovative and progressive Auckland based Architecture practice established by Richard Naish and Tim Melville in 1999. The formation of the practice brought together the complementary skills of the directors developed through their previous experience on significant projects with ORMS Architects in the UK and Jasmax in Auckland.
The practice has a notable reputation for original and award-winning design on a variety of educational, commercial, community and residential projects. They experienced team is made up of Architects, Architectural Graduates, Architectural Technicians and administrative support staff. In addition to the core team, the practice makes use of additional contract staff as workload demands.

RTA Studio had undertaken a wide variety of projects including site masterplanning at Silverdale North and Whangaparoa, primary, secondary and tertiary education projects: commercial and industrial developments in excess of $30 million in construction value; and a new community centre at Oranga for AucklandCity.
The practice has been awarded more than 20 NZIA Resene Local and New Zealand Awards for Architecture, and recently received a Commendation award in the Mixed Use category of the prestigious international MIPIM Architecture Review Future Project Awards.
RTA Studio is a current Practice Member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council, and carries professional indemnity insurance cover with QBE through Marsh Ltd.
