Rene Gonzalez Architect believes that architecture should be a sensory experience. We believe that buildings should impact us and like people, be loved and leave a lasting impression on us. We believe that architecture should be in dialogue with the environment. Our work is an exploration of how man touches nature and how nature touches man – the mix of the natural with the synthetic. We seek to discover and define the essence of a place – interpreting patterns, ideas, and cultural conditions rather than imitating forms or stylizing architectural typologies. Our approach is always holistic, often engaging interiors, landscape and architecture.
For each project we research innovative materials – many from aeronautics and science. Our use of very innovative materials is less about innovation for its own sake, and more about rediscovering and revealing the potential of architecture to be tactile, experiential and more authentically interactive.
