PATTU (Sumerian; a field, ready to be cultivated) is founded by Cem Kozar and Işıl Ünal in 2009. We are an multidisciplinary design agency active in the fields of architecture, museum and exhibition design, graphic design and urban research.
The core of each project consists of extensive research, interpretation of the subject, content design and the transformation of these into design of space and experience. We like to experiment with unconventional, new and fun ways of designing things. This is achieved by playing with new materials, colors, light, sound, video or even coding. We like to work with multidisciplinary teams including programmers, musicians, sound designers, video and CG artists, urban designers or landscape architects as well as curators dealing with a wide range of topics. This approach allows us to have flexibility in creating communicative and interactive spaces, may it be the design of a small object or the spatial planning of a cultural quarter.
We have worked successfully with institutions like MAXXI, V&A, IKSV, Pera Museum, Istanbul Archeology Museums, Istanbul Modern, VitrA, Koç Foundation, MAS and SALT to name a few.
