Starting with the planning and urban design considerations for each project, we often carry those concepts forward with architectural design that is sensitive to context and environment.While well known for our architectural work, the firm has consistently directed and participated in planning and urban design efforts at many levels since its founding. While the bulk of our work is in California, we have experience both nationally and internationally.Our planning and urban design work encompasses all scales and types of campus and urban settings. Our planning clients include developers, individual landowners, public agencies, and institutions. Planning and urban design is exciting for our firm because it allows us to conceive of a design approach at the earliest stages of the project and provide our clients with the tools to see that project to fruition.It is our goal to design better places for people. More often than not, this requires that we engage in a public involvement process. This aspect of our work is both demanding and rewarding as it helps us to better understand the goals of the communities where we are working, and achieve better projects. We are both familiar and comfortable in this environment and encourage our team members to get involved in the process and be active in their communities.Located in the City of San Diego’s Barrio Logan, the MW Steele Group has a dedicated team composed of skilled professionals.
