mariankara design is the studio of Marianna Ianthe Karampatzaki, Interior Architect and Spatial Designer based in Thessaloniki, Greece. With over two decades of independent practice — and a career in design spanning nearly four decades — the studio has developed a body of work defined by spatial intelligence, material precision, and an uncompromising commitment to solving problems before they arise.
Founded in 2003, mariankara design has delivered projects across residential, corporate, hospitality, retail, and exhibition sectors. Among its most recognised works are the headquarters of Nea Exfrout S.A. in Skydra — a landmark corporate interior featuring a full-height glass floor with an illuminated subterranean garden and a signature helical glass staircase — and the conversion of the company's cold-storage warehouse in Rizo into a contemporary multi-space office complex. Both projects were nominated for A+ Awards and A' Design Awards in 2021.
The studio's approach draws equally from architectural discipline and spatial philosophy. Every project begins with a deep study of how the space will be lived, worked, and experienced — not just how it will look. Light, acoustics, circulation, and long-term adaptability are resolved at the concept stage, before the first drawing is made.
The studio's work has been featured in Ελληνικό Σπίτι and Madame Figaro / Maison.
In parallel with client work, Marianna is the creator of EUZEN — Ancient Hellenic Harmony, the first spatial harmonisation system rooted in ancient Greek philosophy.
"I create images — I don't copy them."
