MGA Partners is a nationally recognized design firm located in Philadelphia, distinguished for work that combines design excellence with long term value. This has been demonstrated through repeat commissions for the federal government, for prominent universities and for public institutions. Our emphasis on design is reflected in an array of significant awards, publications, competitions and exhibits. Our firm began as Mitchell/Giurgola Architects, established in 1958 in Philadelphia by Ehrman B. Mitchell and Romaldo Giurgola. In 1990, the name of the firm was changed to reflect the active partners: Daniel Kelley, Robert Shuman and Mary Keefe. Today, MGA Partners is comprised of twenty-five professional staff and registered architects. Since the retirement of the founding partners, the firm has practiced in states from New York to California and has completed over $500 million of work. Our firm offers comprehensive design services for custom building projects including architecture and interiors. Beginning in the conceptual stages of a project, we also help our clients with programming, masterplanning, cost and schedule projection, urban design and feasibility studies. Our expertise with historic buildings covers technical survey and analysis as well as sensitive renovation and restoration. We support sustainable design initiatives with LEED accredited architects. To support our projects, we provide a broad scope of promotional material, including models, renderings, photography, digital media and graphic design. Overall, our services represent commitment and value to each of our clients. Many of our commissions are complex planning and building projects that involve a wide variety of interests, from client management, to users, to local agencies, to community groups. As a result, we have developed a mature and experienced working approach that encourages communication and participation throughout the design and construction process. We pursue architecture not as a polemic, but as a human act reflecting aspirations for a better life and public responsibility. We focus our work in the context of art, designing in a language of form and detail that is universal. Guided by strong design principals refined over the last forty years, we realize our work through a balanced attention to design, technology, management, and building craft. Our work is collaborative, seeking fresh and diverse ideas drawn from the unique conditions of each project.
