Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd. (LEAD) is an international Hong Kong based architectural design and research practice, founded in 2011 by Kristof Crolla 高仕棠. LEAD explores how architectural innovation can stem from the strategic integration and combination of contemporary design technology and the appropriation of highly contextual and project-specific parameters. LEAD’s scope ranges from art installations and interior design, to large-scale architecture. Its services stretch from initial design through construction up to project realisation. Within its first four years of operation LEAD received over a dozen awards, including the Perspective 2012 40 under 40 Award. LEAD is best known for its recently built “Golden Moon” for which it received amongst others the “2014 Golden Pin Design Award - Best Design Award” for most innovative project for Chinese-speaking market, and the “Asia Pacific Property Awards 2013-2014 – 5 Star Award” for Best Leisure Architecture Hong Kong.
