JYCArchitect+DCDAssociates (JYCA) is under the guidance of the founder Jing-Yao Chang, who started the practice in Taiwan in 2001 after working in the US for more than 10 years.
JYCA is a small practice with a big commitment toward the built environment. The multidisciplinary nature of the staff has enable JYCA to provide clients with variety of design raging from a doorknob to urban design and master plan for the city. The built work covers building types such as private villa, apartment building, medical clinic, school building, church, and social welfare facility, and among them, residential projects occupy more than 80% of the work load in the office.
JYCA has been honored with numerous awards, especially for its residential projects. In 2013, its principal architect Jing-Yao Chang received the Outstanding Architect Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior. The award is regarded as the highest honor among architects in Taiwan. JYCA’s projects have been widely published in professional journals, along with Chang’s writing on issues concerning architecture and the built environment in Taiwan.
