IARA Architecture Design and Research Office, along with IARA Rural Research Center were founded in Beijing by architects Jingqiu Zhang and Lubin Liu. We focus on the past, present, and future of contemporary cities and countryside. Approaching from the perspective of interdisciplinary design, through the means of cultural creation and social engagement, actively participate in the process of social change, in order to better explore human-centred approaches to the revitalization of both urban and rural areas. Committed to continuous learning, we investigate diverse urban and rural conditions, listen to the voices of local people, and shape architecture and spaces around indigenous lifestyles, creating improved living spaces for both cities and villages. Our aspiration is to build bridges between urban and rural areas, revitalizing spaces by introducing industry and cultural activities. Through collaborative efforts between urban and rural communities, our goal is to bring sustained vitality to these places.
