Hakan Helvacıoğlu / Designer
He was born in Cologne, Germany on 20.12.1967. He returned to Istanbul and graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts - Department of Interior Architecture, Department of Industrial Product Design. In parallel, he started to gain experience in different and professional companies. He attended certificate programs on Color Science and its effects on Human Psychology and Industrial Design Management in England. He has a line that has adopted mainly Large-Scale Living Houses Architecture - Interior architecture designs. He shares his experiences gained in his approximately 34 years of professional work life with young designer candidates in different university events.
He received the "Most Successful Interior Architect of the Year" Edida Elle Decoration Turkey 2021 award, as well as the "Residential Renovation" and "Residential Landscape Architecture Turkey" awards at the European Property Awards.
He won the EDIDA 2023, A Design and IF Design International awards with his "Reflection of Laodikeia" collection. He is the winner of Elle Decoration Turkey 2024 award with his carpet collection “Crescendo Collection”.
He won the ''Gold Winner'' award in the Commercial Spaces Category of IDA (International Design Awards) with his Arura Mardin Hotel project; and the Best Hotel Space Design of the Year Award in the Maison Française Interior Awards.
Hakan Helvacıoğlu also produces and launches furniture, lighting, carpets, fabrics and other product designs with his Studio brand. He continues his work from his office in Istanbul and carries out various national and international projects.
