Fashion, design, life! Founded by fashion designer Sun Min (Sammy) and architect Christian Taeubert, the name of their practice refers to having reached the halfway point in their lives (过半儿guò bàn er = more than half). They describe their maxim for their creative work the following: “We create simple and practical solutions that are beautiful.” The name is their constant reminder that there is still a lot to explore if one is only ‘halfway’ done. It’s a testament to their curiosity and readiness to explore and deliver positive project outcomes in close cooperation with their clients.

We founded 过半儿 guò bàn er in June 2021. We strive to set new industry standards despite being a small firm of 4 employees only. From the beginning days of the studio, we have offered our employees a four-day workweek at total compensation of a typical five-day workweek. What started as an experiment has proven to be a successful model to guarantee a healthy work-life balance for our staff while providing excellent services to our clients. To lead this new way of working in China makes us proud.
