Over the last 100 years of architectural practice, FBM has dedicated themselves to creating buildings that enhance the quality of life within them, and the communities they serve. We call this ‘people-driven design’.
While our portfolio contains a wide range of projects and building types, it is united by shared values: we design spaces that feel good; details matter in all aspects of our work; and our designs always endeavour to build communities.
We are profoundly inspired by: landscape, leveraging assets such as light, context, and history; the everyday activities of people and how the spaces within our buildings bring them dignity and delight; and enhancing the communities in which we work always seeking to improve the neighbourhood and the environment.
We take pride in our accomplishments, but the most rewarding aspect of our work is using form, structure, light, and materials to create meaningful and delightful relationships between people, place and building. With a history and legacy as established as the character of downtown Halifax where our office is located, FBM is looking forward to the next one hundred years.
