With more than 100 national and international awards, Vancouver-based structural engineering firm Fast + Epp has established a reputation for fresh thinking and holistic solutions that push the design envelope in the interest of sustainable, economical and expressive architecture.
Our firm has been involved with an extensive variety of public and private projects since its inception in 1985 – from elegant educational and recreational facilities to aesthetically-striking transit stations and pedestrian bridges. All attest to our passion for ingenious yet practical design and a meticulous attention to detail.
Having taken a particular interest in timber, Fast + Epp has become somewhat synonymous with creative exposed wood and timber-steel hybrid structures. Our engineers’ ability to view the design process as a holistic endeavour – incorporating mechanical, electrical, and acoustical systems into the overall structure – has enhanced our ability to work on integrated design teams with architects in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are fluent with the design of all primary structural materials and have completed projects with up to a $300-million capital cost.
As part of our commitment to better serve a growing number of projects across Canada and abroad, Fast + Epp opened its first international office in Frankfurt, Germany in 2010, as well as a branch office in Edmonton, Alberta in 2012. Our Vancouver head office currently employs more than thirty-five people, including LEED®-AP-designated engineers and skilled REVIT technicians.
