ACT is a design practice in Copenhagen
which specializes in the integration of physical activities within the
built environment at all levels of design, from landscape, architecture
and urban design to the design of public furniture.
ACT is particularly interested in what the design itself can do! How
design can not only help to create attractive spaces and environments,
but more intriguingly how design can create spaces rich with events and
activities, thereby adding extra value to the surrounding context. ACT
helps projects move beyond a well-designed aesthetic framework by
providing real strategies and models for activity zones and focusing on
the design’s inherent potentials and abilities to move and be put in
motion.
Through a process of evidence-based design, ACT possesses a critial
understanding of the necessary design parameters and the process of
selecting and planning for appropriate project activities. Drawing upon
multiple sources of research, including our own, and experience with
existing “active” projects, ACT works in tandum with municipalities and
private clients to produce overall design solutions that provide quailty
results.
