By design, A Gang of Three is a multidisciplinary arts and arts planning practice that operates within an ever-evolving gradient of public art, architecture, landscape architecture, installation, urban planning, ecology and advocacy. We leverage our unique perspectives and strengths to tackle such critical issues as human rights, social justice, climate change, data, resiliency, migration, gun violence, and memory, among others.
At its core, our work is intended to promote positive change and bring disparate peoples together. Intentionally subtle, our work takes its time to settle in, causing viewers/participants to have to think critically to meaningfully engage with it so as not to illicit immediate reactions – allowing for a true sense of discovery and often framing unexpected and differing perspectives.
Our work has been recognized with various national and international awards and honors from Google, Fast Company, The Architect’s Newspaper, Architizer, the World Architecture Festival, the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Architects, and the Institute for Public Art, among others. We were recently shortlisted for the International Award for Public Art and a global finalist for the 2024 World Architecture Festival.
