1: 1 lab is a platform at the Department of Architectural Design II, Faculty of Architecture, CTU, which deals with design-build projects. Design-build projects are an alternative to standard teaching of architecture, this method allows students not only to design and draw a building, but also to realize it with their own hands. Walter Gropius already had a practical approach to teaching when, in his 1939 statement "Training the Architect", he stressed that "the young architect of today needs to be trained in the use of tools and materials" rather than being tied to "blood-less drawing board and the phantom of traditon ”.
