See How 100-Year-Old Trees Accentuate Modern Design in This Mexican Retreat

Architizer Editors Architizer Editors

Set in Cuernavaca’s heart, this project forms a distinct retreat within a 12,500 sqm communal housing community, established in 1980. Embraced by an exceptional climate and lush scenery, the area houses majestic trees over a century old, emphasizing a deep connection with nature.

The retreat is crafted to integrate seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Design elements like clay, concrete, stone, and water are thoughtfully combined, reflecting a commitment to wellness and ecological harmony. The architecture, with its clear glass façades and expansive concrete roofs, blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors, inviting nature into every living space.
