The Lakeside Pavilion of VANKE ANLAN is a new community center for the Liangzhu Cultural Village, adjacent to the 5000-year-old Liangzhu civilization site. The new building is laid out in a horizontal I-shape pattern with water in front and the mountains behind, connecting the social, artistic, commercial and viewing spaces in sequence. Meanwhile, the new promenade acts as a medium between history and the present, linking nature and space. The design follows Lao Tzu’s view that there should always be a balanced relationship between things.
