The Communication Building, located in the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Complex, represents the democratic ideal while respecting the existing masterplan and combining diverse programs that demand a systematic security policy and spatial flexibility.
With four stories and a green roof, the structure is envisioned as a welcoming low-rise surrounded by nature. Its programs are layered in horizontal zones to accommodate various users while maintaining privacy and maximizing spatial efficiency.
The four cores that circle the courtyard provide proper circulation and security for each user group, while its efficient modular construction system allows the building to flexibly adapt to any possible changes in the future.
