Nestled between mountain and water in Shunchang County, the Shunchang Museum emerges as a testament to cultural preservation and modern design.
Reflecting the unique spindle-like urban setting, its architectural form establishes a deep dialogue with the natural surroundings, crafting a “traversable urban garden” that interweaves the city’s essence. Inside, its spaces accommodate a museum, an urban planning exhibition center, office rooms, and cultural relics storerooms, augmented with multifunctional spaces like an auditorium and cafe.
The building’s skin and interiors blend granites with modern materials, such as glass and specular stainless steel panels, epitomizing a harmonious marriage of the city’s rugged natural textures with contemporary aesthetics.
