The design of the swimming pool in Piaseczno is a continuation of the concept selected in the architectural competition in 2020, which was organized by the Piaseczno Commune with the participation of the Association of Polish Architects. The fundation of the project was to create a building in the form of a park pavilion, which in essence will differ from the commercial characteristic for this type of facilities. The main goal was to create a place emanating peace, which will contribute to building appropriate realations among its users.
The volume of the building has been designed as withdrawn in relation to the neighboring streets, which enables the creation of a landscape buffer emphasizing the character of the pavilion. The composition was based on the shifting of the main volumes (sports and recreational swimming pool halls), shaping two patios separated by trellises, which will create a form of transition between the interior and exterior of the building. The greenery designed inside the enclaves, influencing not only the gradation of the zones surrounding the building, but also has a strong impact one the atmosphere in its interiors.
All design solutions were focused on minimizing the impact of the facility on the natural environment. The building structure was designed with glued laminated timber elements and CLT technology. Striving for homogeneity of solutions, natural wood was also used in the acoustic finishing system and on the building facade. The coherence of materials introduces harmony in the interiors and shapes their unique, natural character consistent with the landscape.
A The building is surrounded by park with 193 new tree plantings, low and medium-high greenery and flower meadows. The diversity of the plants takes into account the zoning of space, creating enclaves for relaxation or outdoor events. Rainwater from the roof will be used on the site by means of a "dry stream" solution that will fill with water during rainfall.
The installation solutions inside the building aimed at high energy efficiency of the facility. A photovoltaic installation has been designed on the roof of the building. All other installation devices are located in the building's cubature. The pool technology has been designed with the use of highly effective heat recovery from the wash water of the pool with the recovery of both water and heat. Additionally, heat recovery from sanitary sewage has been designed. The swimming pool water treatment technology provides for the disinfection process, filtration, coagulation, water ozonation, sorption on activated carbon as well as pH correction and disinfection with chlorine required by law. The building will be managed with the BMS system.
