Now open for entries, the inaugural A+Firm Awards is designed to celebrate the world’s best architecture, engineering and design firms, each of which play a pivotal role in the creation of better buildings and better cities around the globe. But to ensure the program provides a universal, holistic picture of AEC excellence, we knew we needed to make sure that firms from every corner of the world receive the recognition they deserve.

For this reason, the “Best of the Year” Geographic Awards are among the most exciting categories in this year’s A+Firm Awards program. These region-specific awards offer an opportunity for firms to be named the very best in their continent, with further Commended Entrants helping to build up a complete picture of top talent across every continent.

The Geographic A+Firm Awards are broken down into 6 categories as follows:

  • Best in North America
  • Best in Central and South America
  • Best in Africa
  • Best in Asia
  • Best in Australasia
  • Best in Europe

So, if your firm is based anywhere but Antarctica(!), there is an A+Firm Award for you. These awards are dedicated to architecture firms demonstrating excellence in their field, with their main office being located in one of the above regions. Architecture firms should submit a range of up to 6 projects, with at least 3 completed (built) within the last 10 years. The submitted projects may be located anywhere in the world; as long as your firm’s headquarters is in the location that corresponds to the relevant award, then your whole portfolio is eligible.

The Geographic A+Firm Awards are a great choice for firms that want to differentiate themselves from competing firms in their region, and offer a fantastic opportunity to win an A+Firm Award beyond the crowded fields of the other, size-based “Best of the Year” awards.

Every winning firm in the A+Firm Awards will see a range of their projects in print next year, thanks to a new publication by global publisher Phaidon. Winners will also see their work celebrated in the form of a year-round digital exhibition on Architizer, home to a global audience of architects and designers from more than 100 countries around the world. With more than 29,000 registered architecture firms on Architizer’s platform, the program provides an opportunity for your company to stand out from the rest and establish yourself as a true industry leader.

Which is the best architecture firm on your continent? To get yourself in the running for the accolade, submit your portfolio for the A+Firm Awards before November 20th — good luck to every firm that enters this year!
