In response to the overwhelming popularity of our One Rendering, One Drawing and One Photo Challenges, Architizer developed the Vision Awards program to recognize some of the architecture industry’s most unsung creative heroes. As with Architizer’s A+Awards, we’ve assembled a stellar, multi-disciplinary jury of architectural thought leaders from around the world, allowing entrants to get their work in front of some of the industry’s leading figures and see their work published in print.
Architizer recognizes the ripples of uncertainty that the rise of A.I. is generating in design communities; however, we’ve long advocated that A.I. will destroy creativity only if we allow it to do so. As we grapple with the changes that these technologies will bring to society, architects must engage with these tools in order to make sure that they remain just that — creative tools that help take design to the next level. Recognizing this, Architizer has divided the Best Architectural Visualization category into three sub-categories for this year’s edition of the Vision Awards: Photorealistic, Illustrative/Artistic, and A.I. generated.
While the Vision Awards’ jury comprises influential figures in the fields of architecture, design, technology, film, and beyond, given the uncertainty about the ever-changing place of AI in architectural design, we’ve invited the following experts who are at the forefront of the field to help select the winners for this year’s competition. In addition to assessing the A.I. generated renderings, these thought leaders will also help to select winners for the Architectural Visualizer of the Year, Architect Creator of the Year and Student Creator of the Year.
Hassan Ragab
Computational Designer/Conceptual Artist at HSNRGB
Hassan is an Egyptian interdisciplinary designer/artist based in southern California. He holds a bachelor degree in architectural design and his experiences vary between Museography, Exhibition design, Computational design, Furniture design, Architecture and Construction, Digital Fabrication and Conceptual art. Jacques Alomo
Founder of creamAI
Jacques Alomo is a partner and Head of AI Innovation at youknow, where he integrates generative AI into production workflows and SaaS Applications. He founded creamlabs AI which provides creative agencies and marketers with AI-focused education, consulting and the right tool to supercharge their visual generations. Marcelo Coelho
Head of Design at Formlabs
Marcelo Coelho is Head of Design at Formlabs and Faculty at the MIT Department of Architecture. Spanning a wide range of media, processes and scales, his work explores the boundaries between matter and information, fostering new forms of collaboration between human and machine intelligence.
Marcelo’s work has been exhibited internationally, including places such as the Rio 2016 Paralympic Ceremonies, Times Square, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and Ars Electronica. It can be found in museums, private collections, and millions of products sold all over the world. Recognition for this work includes two Prix Ars Electronica awards, Design Miami/ Designer of the Future Award, Red Dot Design Award, and Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Award.
