Inspiration

The project’s exterior is a nod to the Japanese traditional craft pattern of sukashibori.

We conducted interviews with the inhabitants of a noteworthy building to better understand how they interact with, perceive or react to design features on a daily basis.

It’s not yet April 1, but you’d be forgiven for double-checking the date upon viewing architecture s tudio oiio’s latest concept for Midtown Manhattan.

The new building is conceived as a cylindrical volume wrapped in mirrored glass, which will reflect the surrounding city and cause the building to blend with its environment.

Each project is multipronged including several separate wings or cabins, which together create the s ense of a self-contained village.

“The emotions you are left with in a building are what interest me,” says architectural photographer Rory Gardiner.

Concrete at Alserkal Avenue is a classic OMA contemporary construction, but built seamlessly into th e context of Dubai’s central arts hub.
