Dutch furniture designers Furnify’s mission is to make sustainability and circularity the norm within product design. They recently developed Moving Islands (above), a line of circular movable furniture, in collaboration with Makers of Sustainable Spaces (MOSS). Comprised of several modules, the product is capable of adopting infinite configurations to cater to multiple uses and spatial needs.
MOSS meticulously curated the plant selection and Furnify implemented an environmentally responsible approach to the design, using repurposed surplus materials from the wood industry to build the product. This innovative system, illustrated above in a variety of layouts in the atrium of a Dutch nursing home, won the Popular Choice Award in the Flexible Design category.

RE/8 Bio-circular Architectural Mesh offers architects a product made from a single sustainable polymer that is not only beautiful and functional, but also has the best possible environmental credentials for polycarbonate at this time, offering a carbon footprint reduction of 80 percent compared with Kaynemaile’s previous products. RE/8 also offers up to 70% solar reduction for exterior applications combined with significant airflow through its unique 3-D structure.

This A+Product Awards season brought a double success for Sentech, as they won both a Jury and a Popular Choice Award in the Glass & Glazing and Windows & Skylights categories respectively.
One of those products is VetraSpan-L (above), the latest addition to Sentech’s Clear Span suite of products, which marks a new milestone in the evolution of structural glass technology. The engineers at Sentech have reimagined the use of jumbo glass in storefronts and high-end residential applications. The VetraSpan-L system is an ultra-transparent structural glass façade system that seeks to eliminate all vertical glass joints and drastically increases the horizontal span of transparency and openness.

Hand-crafted to create subtle flat planes that reflect and refract light when viewed from different angles, the unique faceted exterior makes a bold design statement.

By combining stellar acoustic properties with designs that please the eyeballs, TURF aims to creates systems that “people will appreciate long after the punch list is complete.” Designed to keep waste to a minimum, the company’s products are made from up to 60% pre-consumer PET (polyester) plastic. They also manufacture on demand, which keeps inventory associated waste low.
TURF topped the Jury Vote in the Walls & Wall Coverings category in this year’s A+Product Awards with Wall Scapes (above), a collection of four new solutions named after their defining characteristics: Acre, Groove, Wave and Peak. These wall panels serve as practical acoustic solutions that double as works of art to enhance spaces with distinctive patterns and motifs.
