Situated in the cultural heart of Haidian, Beijing, the design integrates the city’s natural and cultural context, blending traditional landscape aesthetics with contemporary architectural language. The masterplan is organized around a “Cross-Axes” system: a north–south Water Axis that connects the site to the Qinghe River, and an east–west Mountain Axis that frames views of the Western Hills. These axes converge at the central Four-Seasons Hall, creating a focal point where landscape and community life meet.
The architecture balances tradition and modernity, drawing façade proportions from Beijing’s classical gardens while utilizing parametric metal components and glazing systems that reflect Haidian’s technological innovation. In response to the adjacent urban viaduct, the project adopts a high-performance, low-energy strategy through optimized massing, advanced glazing, and passive design, ensuring quiet and energy-efficient living conditions.
Human-centered design runs throughout the spatial experience. From the ceremonial entry to the Four-Seasons Hall and residential lobbies, the design transforms the daily homecoming in Beijing’s winter into a warm and engaging journey. Multipurpose amenities—including a café, library, and fitness pool—support community life, allowing residents to enjoy greenery and warmth even in cold months, fostering a sense of belonging both physically and emotionally.
