ZARA SKI pop-up introduces a new way of reinterpreting Shanghai’s winter atmosphere through emotion, texture and color. Rather than recreating the skiing scene only, the project translates the physical touch of ski wear into architecture. Inspired by the padded design of ski wear, the interior is soft and cushioned giving visitors a warm and comfortable feeling, as well as offering contrast to urban surroundings. The pink and yellow interior creates a strong visual identity while proposing a new route to pop up design. By turning material to spatial language, this project delivers an unique and memorable experience.
The padded walls naturally form a tunnel, subtly guiding visitors to enter from the street. Inside the store, the multi-faceted mirrors on the left wall allow visitors to view the outfits from different angles without disrupting circulation, offering an immersive experience of the brand's tailoring craftsmanship. The pink padded room transitions to an orange padded room, introducing a second spatial chapter, offering a new look and encouraging visitors to keep exploring. The separated zones showcase different collections for male and female customers. Despite its temporary nature, the pop-up functions efficiently as both a display space and a social destination.
Creativity is expressed by the use of bold colors, playful detailing, and the innovative design illustrating the winter scene. The vibrant color choices highlight the youthful energy that ZARA wants to convey as well as adding emotional warmth. The padded walls turn the shopping experience into a sensory journey. SKYnoa incorporates accessories like ropes, hooks, and straps into the fixtures to vividly evoke the speed, tension and excitement of an outdoor ski slope. These details transform static product display into an immersive space and shopping experience.
Padded walls and fixtures using ropes and hooks are made to be easily disassembled. Socially, the design invites and attracts passerby. Visitors are encouraged to take photos, enjoy the snowflake cotton candy we provided and interact. Located on Anfu Road, the most fashion forward district of Shanghai, the project was distinctive and memorable. SKYnoa created lasting emotional connections through thoughtful design.
