The project is located on a 170m² plot in Zerezotla, San Pedro Cholula, Puebla, and houses four open-plan flats and a double-height loft with generous terraces, parking space, and a roof garden.
Zapoteco ONCE13 was conceived as an exercise to create housing based on the premise of a minimum habitable space. The space is organized through an interior element that structures and dictates its function.
The fusion of architecture and furniture transforms the flats into an interactive space for the user. A 9-meter carpentry unit distributes and organizes the activities typically found in a classic apartment. On the façade, the concrete exterior features a terrace on each floor, providing an "in/out" sensation for the residents.
Furthermore, Zapoteco ONCE13 offers an alternative for living away from the city, yet immersed in a natural environment with powerful views of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, as well as the Zapoteco Reserve.
By utilizing only the necessary space and materials, it both celebrates and respects the challenges faced by modern cities. With an industrial touch and minimalist characteristics, this small residential building provides all the essentials for comfortable living and offers an opportunity for users seeking to invest in a residence without the burdens and costs associated with traditional housing construction and maintenance.
