The project is strategically situated at a key intersection of Karim Khan Zand Boulevard and Ordibehesht Street, adjacent to a public park. It features three distinct urban edges that transform the structure into an urban connector rather than a solitary entity. By opting for a permeable spatial design, the approach enhances circulation, visual coherence, and engagement throughout the site, fostering connectivity and vibrant interactions within the urban landscape.
This approach is based on a system of organizing axes that originate at the ground level and extend upward throughout the building. As these axes rise, they rotate and divide the volume, creating multiple access points and enhancing the activity along each urban frontage. The resulting geometry is not merely a formal exercise; it serves as a spatial strategy that improves clarity, strengthens connectivity, and distributes activity throughout the project.
At the heart of this architectural strategy lies the principle of the "active wall." Rather than merely serving as a traditional boundary, the building envelope functions as an interface that mediates between the urban environment and interior spaces. By integrating entrances, circulation pathways, and terraces directly into the façade, this design allows for urban life to permeate the building, fostering a continuous interaction between movement and occupancy. These strategic openings facilitate a series of spatial exchanges that effectively blur the lines between public and private spheres, enhancing the fluidity of the urban experience.
At the lower levels, a brick façade responds to the architectural character of Shiraz while carefully calibrating transparency and enclosure. The material anchors the project within its context, yet its articulation allows the building to remain visually connected to its surroundings. In dialogue with the circulation network, the façade contributes to the activation of the public edge rather than reinforcing separation.
The design incorporates two primary terraces situated on the first floor and at the food court level, seamlessly extending toward the adjoining park. These outdoor areas effectively address regulatory setback requirements while integrating the surrounding landscape into the building's fabric. The strategic recession of the upper mass amplifies this spatial openness, enhancing both visual and physical connections with the adjacent boulevard and green space. Consequently, the project functions not merely as a delineation along the urban edge but as a cohesive component of the overarching public realm, thereby linking the street, boulevard, park, and building into a unified urban experience.
