'Z-Green-Landscape Urbanism' is an urban design project (studio created-student work), for design of an urban park in the heart of New Delhi, capital city of India. The site chosen is an old unused airport, potentially located in the centre of the city amidst strong historical, political and cultural context. The design is conceptualized as Z-Green catering to Z-axis in relation to a Green space in the city as a multi-functional urban park. The programmatic scheme was developed after analysis of the city and the site context, at various levels, and injected into the space. Topography was the prime tool used for the scheme with a distinct and unique process of its development by creating schematic sections along the longer site edge, folding them into a topographical landform. The design output is a schematic zoning of the functions, sitting into the folding topography of the urban park.
