Designed to use a two tone curtain wall system which maximizes views from the interiorwhile transforming the building into a “glass artifact”: a homage to the manufacturing tradition of a neighborhood replete with galleries and artist lofts. The undulating facade of steel and glass animates the building with its reflective qualities. The stainless steel fins draw the viewer's attention skywards where the building is capped off by a bulkhead which blends it back into a famous New York skyline of "water tanks on steel dunnage" that are characteristic of this neighborhood.
The building offers a contemporary design vocabulary of steel and glass similar to the exterior skin. The dramatic massing of the building provides iconic frontage on both north and west facades with glass pavilions offering unique city views. The building has a gross floor area of 60,000sft, a footprint of 5000sft and is 15 stories in height and offers great tenant amenities including a lap pool, gymnasium, spa facilities, tenant storage and a party space.
The Yves project is a great example of design excellence offered by Ismael Leyva Architects: an innovative interpretation of a unique corner site that offers a sculptural design and defines its own way of luxury living.
