Shanxi is one of the earliest origins of human and Chinese civilization. It is known as a province of cultural relics and has the largest number of existing ancient Chinese architecture in China. The site is about 4km away from the Pagoda of Fogong Temple (the world's oldest and largest wooden pagoda), which intends to respond to the profound cultural heritage of Shanxi and Yingxian City through architectural forms.
The planning concept is derived from the traditional Chinese state-run school and academy culture, and integrated the idea of "harmony ritual and music". Among them, the thought of "ritual" is reflected in the planning: the main buildings are placed in the middle. office building, teaching building, and library distributed on the main axis; On the left side is the school history museum, dining and dormitory area, and on the right side is the sports venue; the thought of “music” is reflected in the landscape, It is mainly based on the design techniques and layout of Chinese classical gardens.
The main design characteristics of this project are light, lively, simple, and elegant. The facade is mainly treated with coating paint, the overall tone is mainly brick red and gray, and the wood grain metal plate is combined as decoration. Through the rhythmic decoration changes of the wood grain metal plate, the overall effect of the facade is bright and delicate, regular and not rigid. It has abundant light and shadow changes, which is in line with the architectural characteristics of the middle school.
The landscape sets the entrance, teaching zone, and library as the main North-south axis; the dining hall, inner gardens, and sports venue as the main West-east axis. The library is the central landscape node, it is designed as an open courtyard and works in concert with the sports venue on the East and the biology park on the North. The teaching buildings, the administrative complex, the dormitories, and the school history museum are designed based on the traditional Chinese garden landscape, which is relatively enclosed and independent.
New teaching space layout: Through courtyard, corridor, atrium, and other indoor and outdoor shared spaces, as well as classrooms, school history exhibition, and other abundant cultural teaching spaces, to provide students with a variety of communication and learning places.
Details of Sustainable Architecture:Taking the library as an example, the courtyard layout is adopted to connect the functional Spaces around the building. The shading of the building is achieved through the cloisters and eaves, and the ventilation is increased by applying the lower level screen door to reduce the use of air conditioning in summer. At the same time, solar energy, rainwater collection, energy-saving lamps and high-efficiency glass are adopted to jointly reduce building energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
