Yew Tree House comprised of an attractive existing Edwardian Villa
that was subject to later piecemeal additions. These additions, with
differing heights and window profiles, unharmonised the entire
dwelling. Our brief was to extend the existing villa to provide
generous family accommodation, but more importantly, make the new
additions blend seamlessly with the original villa.
We suggested the extension was broken down into three blocks, each
stepped back by the same dimension. We concentrated on making sure the
roof; the eaves details and all profiles lined through with the
existing. We matched the existing window details in the new extension.
All these elements pulled together harmonised the entire dwelling.
