Yéle Haiti and RIBA Competitions launch an
International Student Open Design Competition, established by John McAslan +
Partners and Allied London, for a new music studio facility in City du Soleil
(Port-au-Prince), Haiti.
So the objective of this design is to propose a
sustainable building that will benefit the community and the music studio. Taking
into count the three principles of sustainable design + architecture:
Economic - by having a low impact and reduced maintenance
building, mostly made out of recycled materials, self-sufficient.
Social - by be part of the environment, identifying
itself with the rest of the community.
Ecological - by creating energy efficient
building that will provide a long term economic and maintenance benefit.
Architecture - by create a
design
based on
scores
of
music
identified
with
colors
as
part
of
the
cultural identification of Haiti.
This project
deserves
a second chance
because
it
is a project
that seeks the
welfare
of
others and
is not only a aesthetic project, it is
a
link
between
disciplines which
combined
creates
an
architecture that engages
with
society
that
is
designed.
