This rear yard patio was designed to appear as a floating element within the yard. Staggered support posts were installed for a new small mesh fence, allowing the typically monolithic material to be broken up into sections. Light colored tile was set with a wide grout joint, giving the patio a clear scale in relation to the yard. In-floor lighting was installed at a staggered interval, which obscures the grid at night and gives the patio an expansive quality.
